The Niagara Child Care Sector Executive Committee, through collaboration, seeks to support a community in which all children have access to developmentally appropriate care and education.
The Niagara Child Care Sector Executive Committee serves as a voice supporting higher standards in child care for all children in Niagara. It supports those who work with children to continually improve the quality, value and range of services they offer Niagara families. It also seeks to inform child care sector’s policymakers and the public on issues related to early learning and care.
The Niagara Child Care Sector Executive Committee is committed to helping child care centres, home child care providers, and formal & informal caregivers to improve outcomes for the children in their care and contribute to the well-being of the families they serve.
Niagara Child Care Sector Executive Committee will:
Communicate regularly with the child care sector, policymakers, and the public on issues related to early learning and care.
Facilitate the development of sustainable solutions for emerging issues, needs, and concerns related to Standards of Practice and quality.
Encourage ongoing dialogue among all stakeholders and build, through cooperation and collaborative partnerships, a sustainable child care system that meets the needs of children and families.
Create opportunities for child care practitioners who represent our diverse communities to share best practices.
Support the sector in educating parents about common indicators of developmentally appropriate care and education, so they may support their children in their ongoing growth and development.
Advocate, wherever possible, to policy formulation at all government levels.
Advocate, wherever and whenever possible, for quality, universality, accessibility, and developmentally appropriate care and education.

We confidently advocate on behalf of ECEs and child care in Niagara in a non-adversarial manner.
We set priorities that are identified and driven by child care providers and programs.
We communicate the priorities and needs of child care as a whole to the Niagara Region and the Province.

We cultivate the trust and respect of child care providers and programs to act on their behalf.
