Niagara's youngest "teachers" celebrated!
They're just marking their first birthdays, but a group of babies were celebrated June 1st 2016 for their contribution to teaching over the school year.
Approximately 50 babies were honoured at the Roots of Empathy Niagara Baby Celebration. With their parents, these babies have been teaching children in local classrooms important lessons about expressing feelings, respect, inclusion, infant development and safety, and the power of a loving bond between parent and child. Director of Education John Crocco and Superintendent Lee Ann Forsyth-Sells of Niagara Catholic District School Board; Superintendent John Dickson of District School Board of Niagara; and Roots of Empathy Provincial Manager Sheree Wells were on hand to offer well wishes and congratulations to the babies, Moms and Dads and program instructors. The Baby Celebration was also a chance to recognize the many people who contribute to the success of Roots of Empathy in our community including Niagara partners like the Business Education Council of Niagara, Niagara Catholic District School Board, District School Board of Niagara and the Ontario Early Years.
