* Registered Early Childhood Educator - in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
* Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
* Vulnerable Sector Check (in the last 6 months)
* Up to date immunizations and health assessment from a doctor
* Food Handler Certificate
* QCCN Training
* Knowledge of Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) & How Does Learning Happen (HDLH)

*Under direction of the Supervisor, the Assistant Supervisor will implement a high-quality child care program reflective of the philosophy and mandate of Top of the Ridge Day Care.
*Maintain positive and professional contact with families, staff, representatives of recognized agencies, students and members of the Board of Directors.
*Assume the role of the Supervisor in the event of the absence of the Supervisor.
*Attend monthly staff meetings - giving assistance to Supervisor as needed
*Required to work the closing shift (10-6 or 9-6)
*Prepare monthly newsletter
*Prepare monthly menu as needed - with input from the cook and in accordance to Canada's Food Guide.
*Ensure all documentation remains up-to-date and is posted appropriately.
*Administer medications, as requested by the Supervisor
*Perform daily, monthly, seasonal and yearly inspections on the playgrounds.
*Perform bi-weekly Health & Safety Inspections
*Oversee and fulfil the execution of ECE duties as outlined in the Job Description.
*Enrol in the ECE Administration Program as available and appropriate.
*Other duties as required.
*Understand and support various programs such as Quality Child Care Niagara (QCCN) and How Does Learning Happen? (HDLH).
*Maintain confidentiality at all times.
*Participate in the Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) requirements through the College of Early Childhood Educators.
