Key Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment at all times
- Plan, deliver, and observe Montessori lessons and activities aligned with the child’s developmental stage
- Maintain a prepared Montessori environment that promotes independence, concentration, and order
- Record and assess each child’s progress through observation and documentation
- Foster positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child’s development and classroom experiences
- Use Brightwheel (or similar childcare software) to manage daily reports, documentation, communication, and attendance
- Participate in school events, professional development opportunities, and team meetings
- Ensure compliance with all Ministry of Education licensing requirements and Oakleigh Montessori policies

Qualifications
- Montessori Diploma (MACTE-accredited, AMI, or AMS) in Casa or Toddler required
- RECE designation from the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a Montessori or early learning setting
- Demonstrated understanding and respect for the Montessori philosophy and pedagogy
- Tech-savvy with the ability to navigate Brightwheel or similar platforms (e.g., HiMama) with minimal training
- Strong communication skills in both oral and written English
- Reliable, responsible, and collaborative team player
- Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification (current)
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (within 6 months)
- Proof of immunization as per Ontario child care licensing regulations
- Food Handler Certification is an asset

Oakleigh Montessori is a newly established Montessori school opening in Fall 2025, licensed by the Ministry of Education in Ontario. Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Montessori Directress or RECE to join our team in either our Toddler (18 months – 2.5 years) or Casa (2.5 – 6 years) classroom. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Montessori programming while ensuring the physical, emotional, and intellectual well-being of each child in their care.

This is a full-time position requiring commitment to the school’s schedule, curriculum delivery, staff meetings, and school events.
