Key Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized Montessori classroom
- Support the Montessori Directress with classroom activities, transitions, and routines
- Engage with children in a respectful, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate manner
- Supervise children closely to ensure safety at all times, indoors and outdoors
- Prepare and clean materials and environments under the direction of the lead educator
- Communicate professionally and positively with staff, children, and families
- Use Brightwheel (or similar software) to support classroom documentation, communication, and attendance tracking
- Participate in staff meetings and school events as required
- Follow all school and Ministry of Education policies and procedures

Qualifications
- Experience working with young children in a group setting (Montessori or early learning experience preferred)
- Warm, patient, and reliable individual with a strong interest in early childhood education
- Tech-savvy and able to quickly learn and navigate platforms like Brightwheel or HiMama with minimal training
- Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification (current)
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (within 6 months)
- Up-to-date immunization records as per provincial requirements
- Food Handler Certification is an asset
- Strong English communication skills (oral and written)
- Montessori Assistant Certificate (AMI or other) is a plus, but not required

Oakleigh Montessori is a newly established Montessori school opening in Fall 2025, licensed by the Ministry of Education in Ontario. We provide an authentic, child-centered Montessori environment for children aged 18 months to 6 years. Position Overview
We are seeking a caring and dependable Assistant Educator to support our Montessori Directresses in the Toddler (18 months – 2.5 years) and Casa (2.5 – 6 years) classrooms. This individual will play a key role in ensuring a nurturing, safe, and supportive learning environment for our students while assisting in daily routines, classroom activities, and supervision. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about early childhood education who may not yet hold an RECE but is eager to work in a Montessori setting and contribute to a high-quality early learning program.
