- A valid Food Handlers certification
- A minimum of 2 years of food handling experience, in large quantities
- Experience working with dietary differences, allergies, and sensitivities
- Ability to work in a dynamic team environment

- Is caring, genuine, and empathetic towards children and their family's

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Food Handler for our high-quality child care centre!
An ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience preparing nutritious snacks and meals in large quantities while adhering to Public Health requirements, Canada's Food Guide and Centre policies. The Food Handler, under direction of the Supervisor or Designate, will perform duties which will involve contact with children, their families, centre staff, community partners, and other recognized agencies.
A Food Handler with a RECE Certification is an asset, but not required.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Complying with health office regulations regarding sanitation, food preparation, and food serving.
- Maintain all kitchen, laundry, and storage areas appropriately; including appliances
- Maintain up-to-date inventory of needs and keep in consistent communication with Designate regarding inventory
- Plan the menu according to food guides, allergy concerns, and sensitivities
- Plan, purchase, and properly store food orders
- Maintain accurate record-keeping of temperature logs and cleaning logs.
- Cleaning and Sanitation of dishes, dishwasher, sinks and/or additional materials
- Assist with children and other centre needs as situations warrant.
