Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Childcare Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our licensed childcare centre in compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA). The ideal candidate will be a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) with strong leadership skills, a commitment to high-quality programming, and the ability to support and inspire a team of educators.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise daily operations of the childcare centre, ensuring compliance with CCEYA, Ministry of Education regulations, and municipal licensing standards.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to childcare staff and educators.
• Develop and implement age-appropriate, inclusive, and stimulating programs aligned with ELECT and How Does Learning Happen?
• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children and staff.
• Maintain accurate administrative records (attendance, staff scheduling, licensing documents).
• Foster strong relationships with families, staff, and community partners.
• Participate in professional development and remain up to date with current best practices in early childhood education.
Job Description
Qualifications:
• Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a licensed child care setting.
• Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 (CCEYA) and current Ministry of Education guidelines.
• Current Standard First Aid & CPR Level C certification.
• Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (dated within the last 6 months).
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
Assets:
• Post-secondary education in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• Experience with program planning using ELECT and "How Does Learning Happen?"
• Bilingual (English/French) or multilingual abilities.
