Job Requirements
Skills, Knowledge, Training:
• Postsecondary education in the area of Early Childhood Education, and/or studies related to Education with minimum 3 years progressive Supervisory experience in related field
• Registered and in clear standing with the College of ECEs
• Experience in an EarlyON Centre is an asset.
• Current Standard First Aid(Level C)/CPR certifications
• Excellent knowledge of early childhood development and skill in developing age appropriate quality early learning activities and programs for children from prenatal to 6 years of age.
• Experience in marketing and communications is an asset.
• Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and good judgment, take initiative and respect the confidentiality of sensitive information and materials.
• Demonstrated creativity and the ability to bring ideas to life.
• Demonstrated ability to set goals, create action plans and evaluate progress and results.
• Requires reliable transportation to travel between Centre locations; flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
• Current police records check with vulnerable sector search, issued for the Niagara Falls Public Library.

Job Description
EarlyON Coordinator
Niagara Falls Public Library
Fixed-Term, Full-Time (1 position available)
12-month contract

The Niagara Falls Public Library is seeking a Full-Time EarlyON Coordinator to oversee the EarlyON Centre programs across multiple sites. The role includes managing staff, volunteers, and community partnerships to ensure quality services for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. The Coordinator is responsible for operating within approved budgets, promoting services, building relationships with families, and ensuring compliance with Ministry and Library regulations.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to outstanding customer service, strong attention to detail, and enthusiasm for coordinating multiple services across multiple locations to ensure the delivery of services meets the needs of the community. They will have a deep understanding of the EarlyON pedagogical framework of “How Does Learning Happen” and its’ application within a Library setting. The successful candidate will have a strong aptitude and willingness to learn new technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
Administration and Leadership:
• Provides leadership of EarlyON team, including coordinating scheduling, role model effective practices and adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
• Supervision of staff utilizing a variety of techniques including coaching, modeling, active listening, observing, questioning, and demonstrating to ensure program quality.
• Oversee the operations of EarlyON Centre sites, including addressing site issues.
• Responsible for administrative duties to support the EarlyON team and program deliverables, including performance management, timesheet preparation, budget management and other required tasks.
• Manages EarlyON records and database by recording family registrations, attendance records, resource lending records and the collection and analyzing of statistics
• Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate program and registration information is available for families through the website and social media platforms.
• Creates and shares engaging content on social media to promote EarlyON programs, events, and services, helping to build community awareness and participation.
• Ensure Health and Safety Policies and Child Protection Procedures are followed.
• Attend professional learning, training and monthly meetings as scheduled.
• Work collaboratively with Library staff and administration to ensure open communication and seamless service delivery.
Client, Community and Partner Support
• Develops and maintains active and effective communication and information networks within the community and coordinate partner visits.
• Provide excellent customer service, acting as the first point of contact for families and community members in the EarlyON programs
• Provides the team, partners and program participants timely, accurate and relevant information and resources and supports with respect, cultural sensitivity, tact and professionalism
• Meet program deliverables and key program indicators set by Niagara Region and the Ministry.
• Collaborate with partnerships that supports program planning, development and capacity building of the EarlyON program, i.e. student placements
Program Delivery:
• Plan, organize and lead the EarlyON Core Services and programming in alignment with the pedagogical approach presented in “How Does Learning Happen?” (Ministry of Education).
• Ensures the development and delivery of a wide range of creative support programs and services to families and caregivers of young children from prenatal to 6 years of age including parent/caregiver education workshops and both indoor and outdoor workshops for families.
• Participate and engage with the children, caregivers and families in a positive and supportive manner.
• Refer families and caregivers to appropriate community services and resources based on their needs.
• Maintain a safe, diverse and stimulating physical environment within the centre.
• EarlyON Coordinator will spend time in direct program delivery
• Stays abreast of Library communications.
• Recommends improvements to services and procedures to better serve customers.
• Provides administrative support for assigned areas.
• Identifies and resolves service problems, and reports those requiring further resolution.
• Provides back-up public services as required.
• Assists with specific library projects.
• Plans and implements changes and innovations.
• Reports problems with the operation of physical plant and equipment.
• Participates in and contributes towards library committees, meetings, and events.
• Stays abreast of professional and community knowledge, in order to enhance services and the Library’s community role.
• Identifies problems and resolves them when possible
• Shares accountability for ensuring a safe and respectful workplace.
• Other duties consistent with job responsibilities.
