Job Requirements
  • Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) and in good standing.
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) from an accredited institution.
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification.
  • Up-to-date immunizations and a clear Vulnerable Sector Screening.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in planning and implementing inclusive, play-based learning activities.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with children, families, and team members.

Job Description
About Us:
St. Thomas’ Day Care Centre is dedicated to providing high-quality early childhood education and fostering a nurturing environment where children can thrive. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) to join our team.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate programs that foster children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Maintain a safe, healthy, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Establish positive and open communication with parents/guardians regarding their child’s progress and development.
  • Observe and document children’s learning experiences, ensuring alignment with Ontario's Early Learning Framework.
  • Collaborate with team members to create and implement engaging activities that meet individual learning needs.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to assistants and volunteers within the classroom.
  • Ensure compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Foster an inclusive environment that respects and celebrates diversity.
  • Attend staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities as required.
